A love story...

This Save the Date was just the beginning of my fun-filled journey with Josh and Melisa! Melisa was a sweet, creative bride with a flair for vintage romance! We set out to give her the 'Love Story' themed wedding of her dreams. This was just the beginning of her wedding designs... a save the date, reminiscent of a vintage 1940's postcard. Every detail was deliberately thought through, down to the postmark with the date and location of her wedding. They wanted to put the postcard in an envelope so it would arrive at its destination safely, so I created a faux photo stamp for them. Another excuse to use one of their amazing engagement pictures!

Beautiful fall wedding...

I was so excited to see another wedding published on Style Me Pretty! I loved this beautiful, fall-themed wedding up at Thomas Fogarty Winery in Woodside California. More paper quilling...

Just having fun trying something new! I think this is so much fun. Time consuming...meticulous...but fun! In my previous post I highlighted some menus that I created using this technique! If only I had more time on my hands...sigh...

For my parents 50th wedding anniversary party I found pictures of their past together and quilled a
floral border around each of them to use as centerpieces.  

These were some of my earliest creations as I experimented with the possibility of incorporating some quilling into future wedding designs. 

Deb and Christian

Deb and Christian were such a fun couple! They really wanted a fun an unique wedding, as testified by their bold and fun color choices and unique paper ideas! It is so fun to work with a couple that challenges my creativity and allows me to try some new things! They fell in love with velvet paper and really, really wanted to use it in their invitation. It had such a beautiful texture, but presented some challenges in the printing. What I ended up doing was printing the flower on an inkjet printer to capture the color shading, and using letterpress for the wording to make it nice and crisp! The end result was beautiful...wrapped up in a paper fold with a die-cut to showcase the poppy underneath. And of course, all held together with a gorgeous wax seal! So much fun!

The place cards were made out of flower seed paper
with a printed vellum overlay...held together by copper grommets.

And the best part of all...the menus! They gave me an opportunity to
use paper quilling for the first time in a wedding paper design. I can't even count the numerous hours I spent twirling paper, but I LOVED the end result. It was so much fun, and made each one unique!

Here are a few pictures from a gorgeous, damask themed wedding at the Bently Reserve in San Francisco. I think the colors and theme came together to create a very elegant setting. Enjoy!

Ron and Stacie

Ron and Stacie had a lovely fall wedding up at Thomas Fogarty Winery. I was really inspired by their beautiful autumn color scheme. Stacie and I spent many hours comparing papers and ribbons in order to achieve the perfect combo! I was so thrilled with how her invitations turned out. We both liked them so much that we decided to create the menus in a similar fashion. I also created an escort card display out of 2 gold boxes. The cards were on gold wires sticking up out of the moss, in an abstract garden display. I also designed a custom wax seal for them to use in their paper designs.  Here are some of the vendors involved in that beautiful day. They all did a wonderful job!
